About us

Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes), a free-floating water plant whose leaves are above the water surface. A most troublesome weed as it multiplies rapidly, clogging lakes, rivers and large ponds and seriously obstructing traffic on waterways. Extremely difficult to eradicate and much research has been devoted to its use in animal feeds by FAO, now a reality by using HYAQUIP INC, WATER HYACINTH PROCESSING EQUIPMENT design for harvesting, processing and animal feeds formulations invented for HYAQUIP INC.

Water hyacinth remains troublesome weed to fresh water lakes, rivers and ponds in the world. However HYAQUIP INC. has designed and invented formulations of products extracted from hyacinth which is a paramount solution in utilization of water hyacinth to the affected areas across the globe.

HYAQUIP INC. has designed a water hyacinth processing equipment to harvest, process and utilize the hyacinth as raw material. The equipment has the capacity to contain the rapid growth of water hyacinth and other water marsh plants that multiplies at a very high rate. The harvested hyacinth is processed into raw material for commercial use, i.e. fertilizers and other products.
The company has utilized this troublesome weed as a golden weed that will provide the world with much needed organic fertilizers and will benefit developing countries mainly in Africa and Asia to utilize the weed that is available in hundred’s of acres in the fresh waters mainly lakes, rivers and large ponds. The process turn this troublesome weed into income generating national resources and create job opportunities in their respective countries, improve food security and create great opportunity to farmers. The entire project is a milestone in eradicating poverty in developing countries.

The feasibility study undertaken reveal that: -

  • The factory will cost approximately, US$55.8 million.
  • The Pay Back Period is 120 months.
  • Net Present Value at 20% is approximately US$3,750,653.77
  • Benefit/Cost Ratio at 20% is 1.27
  • Internal Rate of Return is 37%.


The results indicate a good financial viability for the project. This is in addition to generating additional foreign exchange to the country/countries, by exporting the end products and employment creation. The project will also save the country/countries from importation of artificial fertilizers and pesticides, which are not beneficial to the soils and crops by use of large quantities of pesticides as opposed to the use of organic fertilizer where no pesticides are required. The use of organic fertilizer farmers will earn added value for crops produce mainly coffee and other crop produce
